This week as my work of the week I have chosen to present my writring on why I think girls are better than boys.

This week as my work of the week I am presenting my ‘Island of the White Spear’ Pre-reading Prediction, BLM sheet that I copied into my reading book and completed.

Yellow Hat: I am happy with my work because MrC told me he was really impressed by how I described how the title looked like. It is important to have people read your work because they can tell you things you might want to improve or change.

Black Hat:  I think I could of improved my presentation by making it a bit more colourful and exciting but I quite like the way it is now because it relates to the story.

This week we did writng. this is a picture of my writing that decribes what we did on our holiday in Rotorua;

This week I played in a chess tournament.
Afterwards I recieved 2 Gold medals for getting best girl player and the other for overall best player. I also got a silver medal because our team got second against “Chess Power”.

Also this week I went to Manaia for the Maths tournament. I got all the singular questions correct so I got a special biscuit saying first on it. Me, Krissie and this other girl from Kaponga were the first ever people to get all the questions corrcet so we were special. Matapu got third overall so I think we did really well

For my Wow this week I chose another piece of writing I did.

I based my story on the historical notes at the end of my book.;

 Voting rights of women.I used lots of  complicated vocabulary

 but I still think I could of used more.

I stuck to my plan and had sucess to my goal.

For my WOW this week I chose my writing.

We had to write a story about when we had a hanging challenge.Then I had to

highlight all the places where I had used language that described the competitiion

and where I described how it felt.

I thought I wrote a good peice of writing.

For my work of the week this week I chose one of the activities we were given by Mrs Loveridge.

It was to write our birth star and its characteristics.

I am a cancer so I chose to publish my work in the shape of a crab.

Unfortunately I have lost it so I can’t put a photo on.

For my wow this  week I chose to publish my tennis results.

I did really well at tennis and the handicap matches.

I won 2 matches and lost 2. But I did some really good shots.

Next time my focus will be to hit more shots with my backhand.

For my work of the week this week I chose some of my reading work I finished.

One Small Step Questions

Q3. When they landed what ocean did they land in?

Q4. Once they had landed in the ocean what happened?

Q5. How did the crew communicate with base while they were travelling?

Q6. What was the name of the first sucessful launched spacecraft?

Q7. Where was mission control (HQ) based?

         – who ran it?

Q8. Why were the three astronauts kept in quarantine?

 Q9. Why did they have to be kept in quarantine for so long?

        – what was it like?

Q10. What food did they have to eat?

           -what did it taste like?

I think I did really well for coming up with the questions.

next time I will try to create harder more advanced choice questions as well so that people would have the choice whether to try the easy ones or the harder ones.

I will post the answers to my blog in the next 2 weeks so that for anyone who tries it can mark it.

The school journal I used was SJ part4 number3 2009 and has a picture of a astronaut on the front.

My work of the week this week is my movie I made about timesing fractions.

I don’t know how to publish it though so I will once I do.
The people who helped me were my best friends Emily and Alaska. They were great.
